On the 9th to the 11th of November, a team of seven 4th Years participated in the Model UN taking place in UCC. The team comprised of Siobhan Marley, Aisling O'Driscoll, Lauren Catinot, Jenny O'Keefe, Beth O'Reilly and Caoimhe Ring. We were the delegation of India. The competition ranged from not only schools in Cork, but some came down from Dublin and Kerry!
Each team member was given a committee and a topic to discuss. The different committees were Security Council, Historical Security Council, Disarmament and Security Committee, Social and Humanitarian Committee, Economic and Social Committee, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and International Criminal Court.
The weekend was great fun and everyone had a great time on the UCC campus.We also had a winner on the team, Beth O'Reilly, who won "Best Delegate" for the International Criminal Court. Everyone on the team is hoping to participate again next year!
