Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly stewards and waiters of the hotel who offered little snack bites including pastries and croissants! After the Welcoming Ceremony, we recieved half an hour to set up our stall. Following this, our assigned adjudicating judge and one head judge came around to listen to our 10 minute presentation and also spring a few questions on us!
At 2pm, the final 10 semi finalist schools were chosen from the total 28 schools present. Luckily, we were chosen and so we took to the stage where Meg gave it her all to convince the judges for the last time.
As the time came when they were about to announce the four winning schools, the nerves were at an all time high! All six members of the team were extremely anxious, along with Ms Manley! A sense of great relief and excitment welled over us as, "St Aloysius College, from Carrigtwohill", was announced from MC Seamus Barry of Corks Red FM.
So in short, Speedy Savings are through to the National Finals of the competition which will be held in the RDS in Dublin in April. We really need your help and support over the coming weeks to help us win this for St Als, so please keep an eye out for various updates around the school and on the blog about our weekly promotions and openings.
So on behalf of the team, I (Chloe!!) would like to thank all of you for your support and encouragement up to this point and hopefully all of it and our hard work will pay off in the National Finals!
