TY or not?

For those going into 4th year here's why you will love it!

As a TY student here are some tips for the year ahead :)
  1. Get involved as much as possible! Such as the show, projects and competitions, for example Millipore, Public Access to Law and the Bank
  2. Don't worry about not being with your friends, TY is all about getting to know new people.
  3. It's not a 'doss' year there is a lot of work involved between doing different projects for your classes and trips away to places such as Ardmore Adventure Centre.
  4. If you like getting involved in activities we would advise you to do The Gaisce Awards.
  5. Also keep on top of your portfolio!! This is a big thing in TY, it counts as your whole summer results! At the end of the year you will have an interview about your portfolio and the experiences you had throughout the year.
  6.  Work experience is a great opportunity to know what you want to do after school. Make the most of this! Be organised and don't leave it until the last minute as places are limited!
  7.  The play is a big part of the year! Everyone should get involved and do as much as possible! Don't be afraid to audition even if you don't get the part you went for they may give another part that suits you better! If your not into acting or singing there is also the business team where they sorted out all the money to do with show such as tickets and the tuck shop.
  8. TY is a great year to experience different subjects such as S.A.G.E or doing half year modules such as art and music, this year one of the art classes did Junk Kouture again which is a competition where they get recycled materials and make a dress..
