Guest Speaker: Vivienne
Organisation: UNICEF
Date: 1ST May 2013
Summary of Lecture:
Vivienne told us about all the hard work they do such like they work in over 150 countries across the world, they are committed to finding the best and most cost-effective ways to save children's lives, providing health care, nutrition and education to help every child realize their full potential. Tens of millions more children have been able to survive and lead healthier and happier lives with UNICEF's support.  Despite these successes, over nine million children still die each year, many from preventable causes.  UNICEF is working to reach the day when no children die from preventable causes, no children killed by malaria and measles, poisoned by unclean water, lost for a lack of safe shelter or by falling prey to malnutrition. They told us about the eight goals that the governments all over the world are trying to reach before 2015. We also had a visit by a famous ambassador Donnacha O’Callaghan a famous muster player.
In what ways did you benefit from the lecture:

I benefited well because I learned about all the amazing work they do to help the less fortunate all over the world in places such as Syria.
